I got invited to hit some of the parties at BlogHer and decided I couldn’t pass it up.

WOW! The big brands and even the little ones love and court the mommy bloggers. Some real quality freebies and the conference hadn’t even started yet. I can only imagine what the next two nights will be like.

Also, while there was no acia jello wrestling like you see at affiliate conferences the women of BlogHer can drink. With all the pregnant bloggers giving away their drink tickets it made for an interesting night for this not with child.

On a more serious note I meet some really talented people. The women I spoke with had a really great look at how they promote themselves online and how they view authenticity and their site. I met women who Ford had given cars to drive to the event and all other kinds of goodies. The best part of the whole thing was that all seemed pretty rock solid about “If I don’t like the car I won’t even mention it. I owe Ford nothing.” I thought that was pretty cool and a great approach.

Was surprised at how few new or understood the different ways they could monetize their sites. It’s getting me thinking.
